At times, a child saying they are bored could mean that they are independent and wants to organize their own activities. When adolescents get caught up in the technological world, they hurt sight of how to rely on themselves to create their next a ctivity. This causes them to want the guidance from the parent or teacher. fleck there are still children that find themselves independent, they may get bored because they dont bash how to entertain themselves.Kids need to find activities that they are able to do on their own. Things like drawing, simple building, or going outside to socialize or play with friends. Children need the time to be allowed to decide what they want to do, something that they are able to do. Giving them this time will help them reconnect with physical activities and not so lots mental activities. When kids are doing their homework, and they seem to rely on their parents or teachers too much, you could give them a little time to themselves. In order to get them to think on their own without their parent saying you arent doing this right or this is wrong do it again, let them work the assignment without any interruptions and eventually they will understand why they didnt get the right firmness of purpose a t first and how they got the correct answer in the end. After they are done the parent or teacher could check their work and consequently tell them what they got wrong or right. This is important for the child so they can be able to fall upon on their own without needing the help from the teacher or parent all the time. These little techniques will come to the guardian as an advantage. Not only is the child engaging in the activity, but he or she is enjoying the process. Its important to know what a child means when they say they are bored so they can be helped. Whether its tough to look out or there is a very easy solution, in the end there will be a forceful change in the child attention skills. Boredom is a concurring epidemic in todays society because of all the technology we rely on. Kids do not need to be exposed to all these advantages we have at a young age. Being able to rely on themselves is important in the ahead of time stages of life.Although sometimes kids say thos e words some parents hate to hear Im Bored, it could have a complex meaning to it. Children may need attention from the parent or teacher, redirection of their school work, and some direction in completing projects and assignments. There are many ways to help children fall away(predicate) from spending too much times playing computer games, or PlayStation games and allowing them to have the responsibility of choosing their own activities. Helping them move in the right direction in school work, whether they are not acquiring the challenge they need or simply needing that extra help starting an assignment will in the end have a domineering effect on their progress. Independent children will need the time to figure out the correct answer on their own. The guardian will also get a positive result from giving them that time to correct their issues. Children are all different, when they say they are bored, it could be something drastic or something very simple. Its up to the parent or teacher to decide what the next move is for the child.

The Tipping Point Essay Example for Free

The Tipping arcdegree EssayChange is a regularisation by temper that exit never change. Shifting from one state to an early(a) state is natures law. No one nominate override this rule. Tipping call for by Malcolm Gladwell is all about changes that glide by frequently. No one is stable in this world no thing is stable in this world. Every thing must change consistently, the things, which happened yesterday, is not same(p) today and the things which happened today will not be same tomorrow. This law is not exclusively applicable for human life further also for society, technology, disease, education, culture, music, craft and so on. A wide spread outbreak of an infectious disease is called as pandemic.Malcolm Gladwell also deals with this epidemic not with medicine notwithstanding with social epidemic that spoils young generation and society. Smoking is injurious to health, Drinking is injurious to wealth. Every one knows this, but they drink and smoke until malady ba ngs them. A wo handss tongue is much powerful than whatsoever other thing? What is the reason behind crime rate fell follow up so drastically? What is the reason behind young generation using mobile phones, ipods, and desktop and laptop computer computers than elder generation? wherefore some use Internet for utile purpose and not others? Why violence step-up in Hollywood movies? There ar many questions here but Malcolm Gladwell answers solitary(prenominal) one question that is the correct answer for remaining questions. Ideas, behavior, messages and increases sometimes be establish just the like outbreaks of infectious disease. They are called as social epidemics. The Tipping point is a book that deals with social epidemics that surround us. Generation later generation every thing right from culture, music, dress, changes frequently in a very unusual way. For example, if a famous pop star changes his dressing style, everyone will have a tendency to dress like him. It is c alled trend. This trend changes often, and no one knows this transition. The working of social epidemic is distinctly separate and societys mind were stormed by This unusual occurrence. For example we can look at twin tower disaster in New York City. A film taken by novice artists and technicians may yield sensory victory. No one knows the working of epidemic. The title The Tipping Point is originated from the world of epidemiology. The Tipping Point is a proper intermixture of sociology, psychology, and history. This is a book for one who wishes to understand the world around them is in different way. The Three influential People Connectors, Mavens and Salesmen. Connectors can be compared with computer hub. They play a major intention in epidemic like the central part of a car wheel. Hub is used for interneting one computer with other. They are the effect of computer networking. Connectors have the habit of voluntarily introducing themselves to strangers and others. They can easily mingle with any sort of masses.Hub in computer can be connected to any other computer irrespective of their configuration and computer software installed, like wise connectors can amalgamate with any sort of people in the society without any hesitation. Connectors are very rare in the society.Mavens are very intelligent people, they know how to interact with society, they how to intercept decrepit of the society. Mavens are intelligent powerful social epidemic. Maven the word comes from Yiddish meyvn and Herbrew mevin (, with the same meaning, which in plow derives from Herbrew binah, means understanding. It was recorded in english language in 1952, and incur famous in the sixties by a series of commercials for Vita Herring created by Martin Solow, featuring The Beloved Herring Maven.Since the 1980s it has become to a greater extent common since William Safire adepted it to describe himself the language sensory faculty. The word is mainly confined to American English, but had not yet appeared with the publication of the 1976 edition of Websters third new international dictionary. In network theory and socilogy, a maven is someone who has a disproportionate influence on other members of the network. The role of mavens in propagating knowledge and preferences has been established in various domains, from politics to social trends.Gladwell also suggests that mavens act near effectively when they have some good-natured of understanding with connectors. Connectors can easily and widely distribute the advice or insight of a mavens. Some have identified the maven is not a Jewish word, but a Jewish concept. A maven is an expert, and its something that every Jew thinks he is on every issuing that exists. The term Maven is used to a great extent in spam electornic directs. Spam is naught but an email from unrecognized location or person. The objective behind spam electronic mail is to develop and promote their business and to to earn handsome of mone y.Some Spam email contains VIRUS virtual(prenominal) Information Resource Under Sledge. An agreement or contract in which property is transferred from the seller to the buyer for fixed price in money (paid or agreed to be paid by the buyer) is called as sales. It is an integral part of social activity. Ideas or crops found attractive or interesting by others will grow exponentially for some time is called as stickiness.People always look for different kind of music systems like Walkman, Discman or even those expensive mp3 players And finally they stick with ipods. Apple is the second biggest confederation next to Microsoft Apple introduced ipods in which hundreds and thousands of songs can be saved and played whenever required. This allowed the company to not only exploit they name but also use the names of Dell and Microsoft to work with them for their success. Also this product tipped of the timing. At a time when the health conscious and the madden is at its peak, people were aspect for something to play their music while they were working out that looked cool. This is exactly what the IPOD offered these people. It is compact, mini, nano, shuffles are so small they can easily fit in your pocket with no worries about skipping, even while running. The overall benefits of this product are enormous, and the sleek plain design really set it apart from anything in the market. If a boor in a college doesnt have one of ipod, laptop, cell phones, people are surprised. The point that I try to get from Gladwell is the importance of Maven in having something tipped. Whether is accidental or on purpose the maven finds out information about something and has to tell someone. I feel it has tipped and think it was a mythologic example of marketing tipping a product. I think Gladwell really grade the nail on the capitulum with his main one-third points that contribute to the tipping point of anything. At a time when the health conscious and the craze is at its peak, people were looking for something to play their music while they were working out that looked cool. This is an incredible thermionic valve of ipod mavens. One who links like-minded people and one who gathers and shares deep information, that sounds the definition of almost every family relationship is the blogger, they are connectors and mavens at the tipping point of communication.Cell phone, ipods, desktop and laptops are the tipping point of communication because no other form of communication has been so immediate, so interactive, so far-reaching and so ready-made for relationships. We are connectors and mavens at the tipping point of communication able to make relationships with people all over the planet. We are just beginning to variant out the depth and breadth of the medium in which we are working. With the relationships we are making and the information we are gathering. If we set our minds in the same direction, we can change the world. The whole thing changes when the world is our community.Adoption of Ipods advent of Cell Phones, Laptop and Desktop.Bolstered by the recent holiday gift-giving season, the number of American adults who now own an iPod or other MP3 player has reached 22 million, according to a Pew Internet American Life survey. ground on the findings of this survey, it is clear that this technology reached its tipping point in the 2004 holiday shopping season, said Lee Rainie, film director of Pew Internet American Life. iPods and other MP3 players have broken into the mainstream in a new way, and were intercommunicate a lot more growth, probably an acceleration of growth, ahead. The survey was conducted between January 13 and February 9, 2005 to gauge nearly how many American adults now own iPods or MP3 players. Therefore the title is important for getting your work recognized.INTRODUCTION formulate why you choose this project, and what you hoped to learn from it. You will be required to research the background information for your project, and commit the current verbalize of knowledge for the topic of your research. In addition, you must explain your rationale for choosing this project, clearly state the objective or hypothesis, and predict the outcome of the experiments if the hypothesis holds true.Example if an independent research project investigated the offspring of make pass sanitizers on the growth of E. coli, then the introduction should include background information on hand sanitizers (what they are, how they are engagementd, the ingredients that kill bacteria), and background information on E. coli (what it is, why it is a problem). It would also include the experimental hypothesis, e.g. Hand sanitizers will be more effective at killing E. coli than soap.MATERIALS AND METHODSDescribe how you conducted your experiments in sufficient detail that someone else could repeat them, WITHOUT excess detail. First and foremost, this section is NOT simply a sway of materials and a step-by-step accounting of what you did. You should write your materials and methods in descriptive form, using past tense (describe what you did). Do not include reasoning in your methods this belongs in the discussion section. You should describe what you did in enough detail that someone could repeat the experiment if he or she wanted to, but do not use excessive details. As you are doing your experiment, be sure you keep track of what you actually did in your lab notebook, especially any details which vary from the instructions in the lab manual of arms. What you do could have impor tant implications for the results you get, and your interpretation of those results. The Materials and Methods in your lab report should be what you actually did, and not just what the lab manual told you to do.Points to think of* Organize this section carefully and logically, place the methods in the rule in which you ran them.* physical exertion subheadings that wound the text into distinct sections (if warranted). Do not use subheadings such as Lab 4. Use a descriptive subheading, such as Agarose Gel Electrophoresis and make use of bold text to screw subheadings.* Provide enough information to allow others to repeat the same experiment* Use specific, informative speech (quantify whenever possible)* Omit unnecessary information. You do not need to include every possible detail of the beat you spent in the lab. Include only those procedures directly pertaining to the results you plan to present in the paper.* Include achieve mathematical formulas if appropriate.* Do not ma ke the common erroneous belief of mixing some of the Results in this sectionRESULTSPresent your data in such a way that someone could go directly to the results section and understand the results of your experiments. The results section will have a text good deal and a portion that contains figures, tables, photographs, graphs, etc., depending on what kind of data you have. In the text of your results section, describe the trends and important points of your data. Point out what it is that you want your referee to come away with. Be sure you refer to the relevant figures and/or tables when you are writing your text. Refer to them as if you were citing them. For example The purity of the enzyme improved with each step of the purification scheme (Table 1).For the data portion (i.e., figures and tables), there are many ways to present your results, and you should think very carefully about which is the outflank way. Is it a line graph, a bar graph or histogram, a pie chart, a table, a line drawing or diagram, or is it some combination of these? Whatever you choose, be sure it clearly shows your results. You want your reader to be able to look at your tables, charts, figures, etc. and know exactly what experiment was done for each one. You also want the reader to be able to understand what the results actually are. ALL of your data that relates to the report should be presented (even negative data).Points to remember* Organize your data carefully and logically. If possible, present results in the same order as the methods.* Use subheadings that break the data into distinct sections (if warranted)* Summarize the data and emphasize important patterns or trends* Do not interpret your data do not draw conclusions do not speculate.in the results section (save these issues for the Discussion)* Graphs, drawings, and photos are considered figures. Each figure and table must have a title and be numbered consecutive as they are introduced in the text. (figure 1, figure 2, table 1, table2)* Specify units on the axes of graphs and label all columns and rows of tables.* Computer programs, such as Excel, can help you draw graphs and diagrams. If the graphs are hand drawn they must be graceful and accurate.* Examples of some of the ways that you can present your data are illustrated at the end of this handout.DISCUSSION denote your results back to the introduction. Did you add to the current state of knowledge? What did you learn from your experiments? Were there any sources of error? What time to come experiments might you conduct? Was your hypothesis supported by your data? This section is for an interpretation of your results, e.g. what do your results close? Why did you think that you obtained these results? What can be learned from this experiment.? Connect your results to the concepts behind the experiments and your hypothesesAre there any questions the experimental design leaves unanswered (related to your hypothesis or not)? How would you impr ove this experiment in the future? What other experiments would you do now to extend or confirm your results (what is the following(a) step)? You should also indicate if there are any inherent flaws or sources of error in the experimental design. Do not use human error as an explanation. Only discuss experimental errors that you think actually occurred during your experiment. You should also avoid saying that taking more samples or doing more repetitions of the experiment would improve the data. That is almost always true of any experiment, and goes without saying.Points to remember* Interpret your results draw attention to your major findings.* Support your conclusions with evidence convince the reader that your interpretations are lowering and that your work represents a valid contribution to the field.* Recognize the importance of negative results.* Address both the advantages and limitations of your methods What causes may be responsible for your findings? Suggest explanatio ns if you have conflicting or unexpected results.* Go from specific to superior general Start with a discussion of your specific results and end with more far-reaching conclusions or predictions Can you make generalizations? What would the next questions be?* Be aware of phrasing used in scientific discourse, e.g. verbs the like suggest, indicate, show, demonstrate adverbs like possibly, probably, presumably, very likely auxiliary verbs like may, might, would, could, etc. (qualifiers)CONCLUSIONSSummarize the meaning of your results in two or three sentences.REFERENCESList all of the information sources used for your introduction. Any references that you use should be cited in the text and listed in alphabetical order in a reference section at the end of your report. Use the APA citation style For citations in the text (Author, year) goes after the material from a particular source. For references section final stage name, First name. Year. Title of article. Journal. Volume. Page Numbers.

In America, home ownership ties in with the American Dream and the spirit of working hard to one day earn through hard work a home with a white picket fence. My maintain and I felt that it was time for us to observe ourselves for all the hard work we deplete been putting in everywhere the years by purchasing our first base home, which was well overdue. I quickly learned the process of purchasing your first home can be very frustrating and stressful. However, if you survive the home buying process the reward is priceless once you move into your American Dream. Before we started shopping for our home we both agreed it was meaning(a) for us to have a mortgage loan preapproval. Although I assumed that obtaining a preapproval would be the mo st challenging develop of purchasing a home, it happened to be the easiest part of the entire process. I was able to be preapproved by my deposit over the phone in a matter of minutes pending certain guidelines. Acquiring the preapproval was so easy I was sure the remainder of the process would be effortless. I was startled to learn that I would be faced with many obstacles to overcome in order to complete the process of buying our first home.Next, it was time for us to shop for a new home. I was excited and anxious to shop for our first home. Unfortunately, I was unaw be that the housing market in Houston, TX was flourishing and it was very competitive. On my quest for the consummate(a) planetary house, I looked at several beautiful homes. I found one in particular that I liked, and it was a foreclosure. I discrete to place an tender on the home. However, wholly a hardly a(prenominal) days later I was informed that I was outbid by a nonher buyer. Since this was the first ho me I placed an endure on I did not foresee the outbidding being a major issue. We decided that we would continue our search for our American Dream. The next home I fell in love with was a model home however, I soon learned that it was a short sales agreement.A short sale can establish up to six months to be approved, and I did not have time for that ,because, my animate lease had already expired on my rental home. I begin to work with a realtor who was as well an investor. She had a lovely home for sale in a beautiful neighborhood. I extended an offer to her on the home, and she said that she would need to talk it over with her husband. She later contacted me to advise me that she had agreed to accept a cash offer on the home. I continued to look for the perfect home and was not having very much success. I soon discovered that the realtor had a new house on the market in the like beautiful neighborhood. I contacted her right away and made an offer on the house. Once she accep ted my offer we scratched and faxed the contract to the camber right away. The realtor and I both agreed on a shutdown date which was 45 days from the date we signed the contract. At this point, it was time to get ahead sure that we met all of underwriting guidelines. It was not only important for us to meet all of the bank stipulations but the actual house had to meet bank standards in order for the bank to approve the loan. Shortly, after faxing the contract over to the bank I was contacted by my loan processor, her name was Emily. She told me everything that I needed and I emailed Emily the requirements within 24 hours. The only thing that was pending to my endureledge was the appraisal on the house which I had completed within one week. later, I faxed over the appraisal I did not hear from Emily until three days before my world-class closedown date. Emily was contacting me to make me aware that the underwriting department was requesting that a 2nd appraisal on the home be completed before we could close on the home.I was very disappointed that three weeks had passed and I comprehend nothing from her and now three days before closing she was contacting me to relay this information to me. However, I was not about to give up. I got the appraisal and sent it to the bank, only to have Emily contact me a few days later to tell me that the underwriter was now requiring a termite inspection. We were already well early(prenominal) our 1st closing date and quickly approaching our 2nd closing date, I contacted a termite inspector and had the termite inspection performed right away.Emily then informed me that she was sending all of our information over to the title company so they can arrange a closing date. She gave me the title companys contact information and told me to contact the title company for my closing date. I contacted the title company and was very surprised to discover I could not close on the house until the seller returned from the Bahamas bec ause she needed to sign a release form. The seller returned from the Bahamas two weeks later and I finally got a real closing date which was October 18, 2012.Finally, I said to my husband we have an actual closing date. I was beyond excited. My husband and I went to the title company on October 18, 2012 to finalize our purchase on our home. I cant explain the feeling we felt as we signed the mortgage papers on our new home. After signing what felt like a million papers we got the keys to our new home. When we got in our car we had to take a moment to give thanks to God, for not only allowing us to purchase our first home but for letting our first home be our daydream home. Why was the process so baffling and complicated to purchase my first home? I can imagine it was due to the housing crisis in America. I believe that banks require so much now because they are trying to prevent homebuyers from losing their homes to foreclosure. They are making every effort to make sure that homebu yers are not overpaying for homes and making every get down to ensure that homebuyers can afford the homes. Although, I was very frustrated I want prospective homebuyers to know that it was worth all of the trouble. I think homeownership is the American dream and encourage everyone to work towards achieving the American dream by not giving up or becoming frustrated. I think it is very important for prospective homebuyers to focus on the final prize-homeownership.Reflections ParagraphThe step I found to be the easiest was major revisions. It was easy because I was able to tie in my conclusion with my introductory paragraph. I am hoping that go away grab the readers attention and keep them more interested in my essay. The step I found the hardest was proofreading. sequence I was proofreading I noticed that many sentences did not sound even out. I did my best to try and correct the sentences that did not sound correct. I learned that writing by revising your essay allows you the op portunity to make your essay even better. I still have many errors for improvement however, I am self-confident that with practice I will become a great writer.

African American Essay Essay Example for Free

African American Essay EssayAfrican American literary works is captivating, powerful, spiritual, and emotional. The recurring composition is slavery still there be new(prenominal)s such as inequality among sexes and races, injustice, resentment, and the strong belief in religion. These pieces of literature move over been told by the individuals who went through the experience of slavery such as Frederick Douglass and others, equivalent Jamaica Kincaid who have a passion for writing. The writers who experienced slavery themselves had differing views of their experience and relationship with their master. These pieces of literature share the pain, strength, heartache and bequeath to go that each of these individuals experienced. The first reading is, To My Old Master, by Jourdan Anderson. This piece of literature is Andersons reaction to a letter he has received from his old master. It is a compelling news report about how unholy and bad the Whites toughened the African Americans. The master wants Anderson and his family to come back and work for him. He reminds the master about how poorly they were treated while working for him.Anderson states, Although you shot at me twice out front I left you, I did not want to hear of your being hurt, and am glad you are still living. (1865, p. 15). Anderson tells the master that he is making money and his family is living and doing well. He even expresses that his children are receiving an procreation now. It is very apparent to the reader that Andersons wife does not want to return and work for the master. Mandy says she would be afraid to go back without some proof that you were disposed to treat us justly and appealing and we have concluded to test your sincerity by asking you to send us our wages for the clip we served you. (1865, p. 16). Anderson remembers how horribly the woman and girls were treated, and he go forth never allow his daughters to go through that experience. I would perch here and s tarve- and die, if it come to that- than to have my girls brought to shame by the violence and wickedness of their young masters. (1865, p. 16) The end of the story the reader still feels Andersons resentment and bitterness toward the master. The next story and the one piece I enjoyed the most is, White Folks Treated Us Good by Marriah Hines. Hines states, My white people treated us decent. (p. 32). She goes onto further explain how her master feed, dressed, and kept them well. Hines explains how terrible masters treated other slaves. Some unfortunate individuals practically have nothing to eat. Why, the way their throwers treated them was disgraceful treated them like felines and canines (Hines, p. 32). Hines sounds fortunate and lucky to have worked for her master. The master gave the slaves Sunday off to rest and even allowed them to attend Church. contrary other slaves Hines was never raped, beaten, or treated in a physical horrible way.The compelling take up of this piece o ccured when the slaves were allowed to leave most of them choose to stay. Most of us stayed right there and raised our own crops. (p. 34). Hines knew of her freedom but believed in her loyalty to her master and his family. The master provided her with assistance and support. A rare occurrent to read an African American piece of literature that speaks of a master in a domineering and respectful manner. This master was a different man of his time. He did not take advantage of his slaves or treat them in a horrendous manner. This master used his slaves to care and run his property but treated them with respect and dignity, they deserved. Hines went onto, marry Benjamin F. Hines and give birth to five children. The last piece of literature is, If We Must Die by Claude McKay. This poem is about how horribly and disgusting Whites treated African Americans. It is compose about the race riots in 1919. It describes the strength of the African Americans standing up to the Whites even if it ultimately meant dying. McKay states, bid men well face the murderous, cowardly pack, pressed to the wall, dying but fighting back (p. 378). This poem exemplifies the courageousness and the will to fight for what is right otherwise these people would have been beaten and killed for the rest of their lives. There will always be a presence of racism in the world and specifically in the get together States of America. Still today African Americans are treated equally as Whites. Although we as a farming have come a very long way there is still work to be done. The more we educate people the less we will experience ignorance. The hate and the idea of inferiority will slow diminish if people become educated.I can end proudly stating that I am married to a Black man and we have two beautiful daughters, and I give an rattling(a) amount of respect to those who fought for what was right.
